Soccer Kids

The brief was a soccer game that plays like real youth soccer, with small goals, no goalkeepers and the usual restarts, and that teaches the rules while you play.

1. Built four-on-four play on a park pitch with small goals and no goalkeepers, with a varied set of kids on each team.
2. Added throw-ins, corners and goal kicks, with a blue line the other team waits behind on a goal kick.
3. Gave each kid a different speed, kick and passing skill, so computer teams loosen up on Easy and tighten up on Hard.
4. Built a Learn mode with 13 lessons, slower play and a coach who talks you through each restart.
5. Recorded an announcer for calls and goals and a separate, friendlier voice for the coach.
6. Added one-button kick controls and a Pass plus Shoot option, tuned for tablets and phones.
