Many availability checkers treat a failed lookup as 'available', so a name that looks free may already be taken. NameProof answers 'available' only when an authoritative source says so, and says 'unknown' when it cannot tell.

1. Mapped which lookup method can actually answer for each domain ending, then tested the map against live registries.
2. Added raw registry lookups for endings such as .co and .me, which publish no modern lookup service.
3. Cross-checked with live name servers, which prove a name is registered even when a registry claims it is free.
4. Returned every source consulted, per name, with a confidence level instead of a single yes or no.
5. Set lookup failures, rate limits and timeouts to answer 'unknown', never 'available'.
6. Offered a free check for .com and .co, a per-call paid check for the full list, and a tool endpoint agents can plug into.
